Scientists have pieced together an ancient human genome sequence from the hair of a 4,000 year old extinct Palaeo-Eskimo found in Greenland.  His DNA indicates that he belongs to Haplogroup Q1a, which is not surprising considering modern Inuits, Aleutians, Native Americans and various Siberian populations all carry Q1a lineages at moderate to high frequencies.  Here is a link to the story on Yahoo News.  And still more at this link, including an artist's impression of how he looked.
