Here is a link to a video posted on YouTube of Dr. Svante Paabo of the Max Planck Institute discussing Neanderthal genetics with Dave Micklos of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.  Dr. Paabo discusses the question of whether or not humans and Neanderthals mated, the FOXP2 gene and language development, and the possibility of recreating a Neanderthal today.  Fascinating!
