A Phillips-Knapp reunion is being planned for the weekend of September 19-20, 2009, in Haverstraw, New York. Plans include a Sunday visit to the Phillips Manor Hall and the Phillips Farm, both of which are just across the river in Westchester County. Research over the past winter has revealed that some ancestors of Phillips Family Group 38 were indeed born at Phillips Manor, Yonkers, NY, which was owned by Frederick Philipse in the late 1600s. Frederick was a wealthy Dutchman who, by the time of his death, had amassed an enormous estate encompassing the entire modern City of Yonkers, as well as several other Hudson River towns.
