Everyone Hates SPAM !!!

It fills your inbox, making it harder to read the mail that you really want to read. Most Internet Service Providers (ISPs) now filter spam for you automatically. This is especially true of the larger ISPs, such as Google, Yahoo, Microsoft and AOL. Without getting into the dynamics of how everything works and individual email programs and thereby boring everyone, here is a short explanation.

If you are a registered user or even if you are not, but have requested that the Phillips DNA Project keep you up-to-date on project news and newsletter announcements, we need YOUR HELP!

It is extremely important that you add the email addresses below to your email contacts or email address book.

Our project's email addresses

Instead of manually adding the above email address, you can use the links below to download VCards.  Once downloaded open them and your email address book should add them to your contacts.

Please help us keep what happens to many websites. Many have had to battle with larger email providers  (Yahoo, Microsoft, etc.) to correct their status as a non SPAMMER.  Sometimes people subscribe to emails from websites and then fail to add those email addresses to their contact list. Sometimes emails are diverted into SPAM Folders because they have a keyword or link.  As emails in the SPAM Folders expire and are automatically removed, they are reported to SPAM monitoring companies to which some ISPs subscribe. It can end up making our website appear on the dreaded "blacklist" of known SPAMMERS.  This will make it more difficult for the Phillips DNA Project to communicate with those of you that desire to receive project updates via email.

PLEASE HELP US avoid this by adding the above email addresses to your email's contact list or address book.

If you do not want to receive emails from the project, just send a message to us and we will remove your email address with no questions asked.

Thanks for staying involved!

Not getting emails?

If you are not getting emails, the first thing to do is check your SPAM, Junk and Bulk email folders.

This, of course, depends on your Internet Service Provider or email Provider's folder designation for Spam and Junk email. They vary from Yahoo, AOL, Microsoft and Google; or if you are using an email program on your computer, check and see where Spam email goes.  In 99% of the time, email that you want to get is sorted into your Spam Folder. With the recent push to stop Spam email, many filters are now comparing incoming emails against your email contact list, safe sender's lists, and using formulas to distinguish what emails might be Spam.

If you are don't see the emails in your Spam Folder, they may have already expired and been deleted.

Since you are already in your email program, now is the perfect time to add the below addresses to your list of email contacts. That way you will insure that you get all emails from the project.

Email

In rare instances, your Internet Service Provider(ISP) might be blocking banks of IP addresses and our Mail Server's IP address is caught in the middle.  We do maintain our own IP address and monitor its blacklisting status.

Please use the Contact Us Form.  Use the drop down section where it says Project Administrator, change it to Webmaster, and send a request for help. Make sure that you check the box marked "Send copy to own email address," using your email address that you are experiencing problems with as the contact email. You should receive a copy of your request for help. Even if you do not receive the copy, rest assured your problem will be looked into immediately.

How to Create an Account

Instructions for how to join the Phillips DNA Project Website.

PLEASE READ entire article first. The most important thing to do is add the listed email addresses to your contact list, otherwise you might not get the registration confirmation email.

When you create an account, you are automatically enrolled to receive the Current Project News emails.

1. A new page will appear that will guide you through registration. Name (must be First and Last, or if you don't want to use your Last Name, put the Initial of your Last Name, no period), username, password, confirm password, click small box to put a check mark in accept terms and then enter the code to verify that an actual person is registering and not a Spam Bot. You may use the arrows in a circle to refresh this image until it is something readable for you.

2. Click 'Register' at the very bottom.

3. Await an email. Do not forget to check your spam or junk mail folder. This is an excellent time to add phillipsdnaproject.com to your list of acceptable domains that may email you. If your email program does not have that capability, you should add the following contact emails to your list of contacts. This will insure that you will always be able to get important emails from the project. They are:

Project email addresses

Please Note:
*
Each one must be entered individually as one of your contacts.
*Yahoo mail can delay your incoming emails from some sites for up to 6 hours as they are processed through spam filters.

4. You must click on the link in the email to confirm your registration.   Until that is done you will not be able to log on. When you click on the confirmation link, your browser will open, and you will get a message that confirms you have now been registered.

5. Click on 'Home' from the top menu bar. From there you may click "Log In" in the top right corner.  A panel will appear on the page again and you may Log In.  You may also check the "Remember Me" and when visiting the site, you will always be logged in.

6. You will now have posting privileges in the Phillips DNA Project's forum and can manage your subscription to Phillips DNA Project's Current News.
